Issues in Korea/Entertainment

Actors appearing in 'Top Gun' are scared of the height of the Lotte World Tower.

On the 20th, Glen Powell, Jay Ellis, and Greg Tarzan Davis, who appear in the newly-released movie: Top Gun Maverick, attempted to cross the 'Sky Bridge' on Lotte World Tower's observatory. 'Top Gun: Maverick', which Tom Cruise produced and stars in, is a sequel to its first film, which was released in 1986. The sequel premieres on the 22nd of this month in South Korea. This film is an aero action blockbuster in which the best pilot, Maverick(Tom Cruise) and his colleagues take on life-or-death missions.

Although Tom Cruise visited South Korea with his colleagues, he didn't participate in this event(Lotte World Tower). He said: 'It's been four years since my last visit to Korea, but I have a feeling of bonding with the Korean audience'; '"Top Gun: Maverick" contains important values such as honour, friendship, and familyship'.

Top Gun: Maverick's pre-sale tickets surpassed 200 thousand on the 21st. This beat 'Crime City 2's 193 thousand, which exceeded 10 million ticket sales for the first time after the pandemic. Similar to the number of 'Mission Impossible: Fallout's - released in 2018 - tickets reserved a day before its premiere.
